About Me
My childhood dream was to become a sports commentator, from the moment I could both comprehend sports and talk. I remember going to see the local Minor League Baseball team, the Vermont Lake Monsters (then known as the Vermont Expos). From the stands, I would describe what was happening on the diamond. When a batter took his stance before a pitch, I would say, “He puts the bat down, starts the swing.” Then when a batter hit a line drive into the outfield for a base hit, I’d shout, “Oh wow, a big hit!” They’re just fond memories that make me laugh as I type this out.

Despite dreaming of making it into the commentary gantry, I did not end up pursuing this, at least not at first. I was exposed to computer programming in high school and decided to pursue that instead because it seemed like a creative field in which I could make a major impact. Additionally, the software development job market was quite promising, compared to that of sports commentary or even television broadcasting in general which are known to be very competitive.

As such, I attended the Rochester Institute of Technology in the US state of New York and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computational Mathematics and minors in Computer Science and German. I was able to get a job as a software developer, but I found myself feeling very lost throughout the job. I struggled to feel fulfilled or even produce good work, despite my best efforts.

Needing a change, I realized that perhaps I was right the first time. I left the job and went back to school to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies.
